Residential:

Concrete driveway, walkways, patios, and entryways:

It may be time to consider replacing your driveway/entry area due to cracking and lifting which can cause tripping hazards, or you may want to update your entryway to the front door. Depending upon your budget you may want to have a standard basic driveway with a broom finish( roughened surface) or a stamped/ textured surface with decorative saw cuts. We do it all.

Ralph, our concrete contractor knows the important role that the type of soil found on your property will have on your concrete project. If not factored in properly, the soil can cause concrete to lift and cause cracks over time. Thus ruining the concrete investment on your home.

For this reason, Ralph does not cut corners with your concrete project, he goes beyond the “standard” 3.5″- 4″ thick concrete poured on native soil. He takes extra precautions by removing additional soil, bring in road base material, compacting the soil and base, laying a vapor barrier, using steel rebar and even using a special polymer additive which he adds to the concrete to give you a long lasting product. This allows us to give you a warranty against cracking for five years. Ralph likes to say “I don’t pour normal concrete”.

It’s a system that works. He has been taking these extra steps, precautions and giving this warranty to residential homeowners for over 25 years.

Drainage solution services:

Over the years concrete areas may have been added to your property as your budget allowed. This may have created drainage issues with the new concrete being poured to the old concrete elevations without keeping in mind drainage. Now either the water drains the wrong way (towards your home) or the concrete is holding the water, creating large puddles of nuisance water which can also be a slip and fall hazard. If your concrete is already in place but you are experiencing drainage issues, Ralph is still able to use a laser to work out a drainage plan to solve problems with water drainage or sometimes come up with a creative solution to handle small puddles. We charge a small consultation fee for these services.

Concrete work is a big investment for your home, which is why it’s important to keep in mind the overall drainage of your property. If concrete is poured at the wrong elivations, this could result in water flowing towards your home & against your foundation, which can cause major costly repairs in the long run.

That’s why we start from the ground up. We want to make sure that we look at your property as a whole, allowing water run off to flow away from your home on all sides of the property. Ideally it should flow from the backyard, out along the sides, to the front then out to the street. Before you put your concrete in, drain lines (if needed) should be in place. Our concrete contractor, Ralph Briseno starts by using a laser to establish the elevations of your property and determine if there is a need for underground drain lines or not. Then in the future, as you complete each project, there won’t be an issue of water puddling against the house/foundation or worse, coming into the house.
